Currently Reading
I usually have two or three books going at once — one fiction, one non-fiction, and one technical. The rotation keeps things fresh and means I always have something that fits my mood.
Favorites
- Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson — cyberpunk that predicted much of the modern internet
- Godel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter — strange loops, recursion, and the nature of consciousness
- The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst — the book that made me care about how text sits on a page
Reading Habits
Mostly physical books, with a Kindle for travel. I underline heavily and keep a small notebook for passages I want to remember. Fiction before bed; technical reading in the morning when my brain is fresh.
